How to get help
Email support@shojin.fit. Shojin is run by one person, so please allow a little time. We aim to reply within about 3 days. The more detail you include (what you were doing, what you expected, what happened), the faster we can help.
Common topics
Getting started
New accounts start in the Shojin iPhone app on the App Store. Sign up with Apple, with Google, or with an email and a password. If you already have an account, you can also sign in on the web at https://shojin.fit/app. It is the same account and the same data on both.
Resetting your password
On the sign-in screen, choose the password-reset option and enter your email. You'll get a link by email to set a new password. If it doesn't arrive, check your spam folder, then get in touch. If you signed up with Apple or Google, there is no Shojin password to reset: sign in with the same button again.
Bringing your history from Strong or Hevy
Export a CSV from the other app, then go to Profile → Data → Import from a CSV in Shojin. Your workouts come across, and exercises are matched to Shojin's own list where they can be.
Exporting your data
Go to Profile → Data. You can download a full JSON backup of your data and a CSV of your sets. It's a good idea to keep your own copy from time to time.
Your subscription
Shojin has one subscription, and Shojin Coach is part of it. It is bought in the iPhone app, through the App Store, with a free trial for new subscribers.
- Manage or cancel in your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep your subscription until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple. Ask for one at https://reportaproblem.apple.com.
- New phone, or reinstalled the app? Use Profile → Membership → Restore purchases.
- If your subscription ends after early access, your account is paused: your history, your records, your programs and your data export stay, and Coach stops adjusting the program. Subscribe again from Profile → Membership to log new workouts.
Rest timer on the Lock Screen, and widgets
When you rest, the timer shows on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, where you can add 15 seconds or skip. To add the widgets, or to see how again, go to Profile → App → Widgets and Lock Screen timer.
Training reminders
The iPhone app can remind you on your training days. Switch them off, or change the time, in Profile → Training.
Feature updates and offers
The iPhone app can send you a notification when a new feature lands or there is an offer, about once a month at most, but only if you say yes in the app. Switch it off at any time in Profile → App → Feature updates and offers, or turn off all notifications for Shojin in iPhone Settings.
Deleting your account
Go to Profile → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and all of your data. This can't be undone, so export anything you want to keep first. Deleting your account does not cancel a Shojin subscription: cancel it in your iPhone's Settings first.
Reporting a bug or requesting an exercise or feature
Found something broken, or want a new exercise or feature? Use the in-app feedback box at Profile → Send feedback. Tell us what you'd like. Suggestions shape what gets built next. You can also email support@shojin.fit.
Reporting someone in a Training Circle
If another member's name, photo or status line is offensive or abusive, open the Training Circle and tap the flag next to their name. Your report comes straight to us and we'll review it. You can leave a circle at any time from the circle's settings → Leave circle.
A quick reminder
Shojin is a training tracker, not a medical device, and it doesn't give medical advice. Please consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting any exercise program.
